Airborne 06.11.18: GippsAero GA 10, Bob Hoover Foundation, Methane On Mars

A GippsAero GA 10 turboprop airplane went down June 4 during flight testing at the Mojave Air and Space Port, resulting in the likely destruction of the airplane. The accident occurred around 1100 local time on June 4. The airplane was being flight tested at the National Test Pilot School, which was performing flight analysis for GippsAero, according to NTPS spokesman Dr. Alan Peterson. The California Capital Airshow (CCA) has announced details for its planned Airshow After Dark, a nighttime extravaganza of flying, fireworks and music amid an aviation-themed festival atmosphere of family fun and entertainment. The evening, which begins at 5 pm on Friday, September 21, commemorates Mather Airport’s 100th birthday and is offered with the Weekend Ticket Bundle package, on sale starting June 14, that includes general admission tickets to the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds-headlined airshows on September 22 and 23.
