Airborne 04.21.17: Gulfstream G280, Airport $$ Abuse, Boeing Jobs

Gulfstream’s super mid-size G280 recently completed two missions en route to and from the 2017 Avalon Airshow, each achieving another city-pair world speed record. The G280 flew from Singapore to Melbourne, Australia, a distance of 3,332 nautical miles, in 7 hours and 21 minutes at an average cruise speed of Mach 0.81. Aero-TV: Enstrom Helicopter's TH-180 - A Program Update From Heli-Expo 2017

'For Credit' Flight Testing Starting Soon…

Enstrom Helicopter's TH180 training helicopter program suffered a setback in February of 2016 when the prototype aircraft went down. Fortunately, the pilots on board were uninjured, but the flight test program was halted until late May of that same year. At Heli-EXPO in Dallas this year, Bill Taylor, Test Pilot and Senior Technical Fellow for Enstrom Helicopter, told ANN CEO and Editor in Chief Jim Campbell that now, Entstrom has submitted all of the design data for the TH180 to the FAA, and it is currently doing stress analysis reports.

Airborne 04.20.17: EAA Doolittle Commemoration, Drone Audit, XPO 17 LIVE!

The lone remaining veteran of the famed Doolittle Raiders mission of April 1942 and at least 16 B-25 bombers will be part of the raid’s 75th anniversary commemoration and air show activities at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2017.
