RPA Caravan Put Through its Paces in Simulated Airspace, Vectors, Movements

Reliable Robotics completed a handful of simulations and flight testing surrounding its remotely piloted aircraft system in more congested airspace under the FAA’s Urban Air Mobility Airspace Management Demonstration. The demo is funded by the FAA through Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, bringing about a week of flights in Northern California under the watchful eye of stakeholders and participants in a live test environment. The tests showed off Reliable’s capabilities under a remote control system, undergoing vectoring, airspeed diversion, and flight under simulated weather in (pretend) bravo airspace.

Firefighter Sees $7.2B Contract to Operate, Service C-130H and B737 FireLiner

Aerial firefighting specialist Coulson Aviation has gotten a contract from the US Forest Service for a full decade of operation and maintenance, preventing and containing wildfires with the firm's trademark 737 FireLiner aircraft. The FireLiner is Coulson's in-house, STC'd Boeing specialist and their biggest claim to fame. The converted aircraft offer a high-speed, high-throughput tool to douse fires before they conflagrate. The FireLiner is the result of 40,000+ hours of work in reaching operational compliance, an aircraft that can use its full performance envelope and transport personnel to the site without traditional restrictions.

He Noticed Powerlines Down In The Street And Entangled With The Helicopter’s Skid

On August 12, 2023, about 0950 eastern daylight time, a Bell 47G-5 helicopter, N1503L, was destroyed when it was involved in accident near Mifflinville, Pennsylvania. The pilot was fatally injured. The helicopter was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 137 aerial application flight. The pilot’s brother, who was also a helicopter pilot, stated that on the day of the accident he was operating a truck with the chemicals in it, and the pilot was flying the aerial application helicopter.
