The final agenda for the 12th annual UAS Summit & Expo, the upper Midwest's premier unmanned aircraft systems event, has been released. Taking place August 20-22 in Grand Forks, ND, the 2018 agenda includes a keynote presentation from secretary of the U.S. Air Force, Heather Wilson and presentations from North Dakota Senators John Hoeven and Heidi Heitkamp, and Representative Kevin Cramer.
Company Says Technology Could Disrupt Mail/Parcel Delivery Industry
A company developing what it calls the "mailbox of the future" technology has been awarded a U.S. Patent for last mile drone delivery. DroneDek says it is set to disrupt the parcel, package and mail delivery industry by leveraging several patent claims it was awarded that combine to make it a "mailbox on steroids".
Aircraft Controlled Using Telepresence Technology Platform
The San Diego Fire Department has launched a pilot program to use drones to assist in its firefighting efforts. The aircraft will be equipped with cameras to give aerial views of fire scenes, use thermal imagers to help identify people or hotspots, and help firefighters on the ground plan the best course of action for fighting a fire.
Company Will Use The Money For Inventory, Working Capital And Corporate Purposes
Workhorse Group, which is developing the SureFly hybrid VTOL aircraft and HorseFly drone delivery system, has closed its previously announced underwritten public offering of 9,000,000 shares of its common stock at a price of $1.15 per share. In addition, Workhorse has granted the underwriter a 45-day over-allotment option to purchase up to 1,350,000 additional shares of its common stock at the public offering price. All of the common stock was offered by the Company.
