Cal Fire Again Warns Against Flying Drones Near Wildfires

Flights Can Force Aerial Firefighters To Stop Flying, Leading To More Damage

California fire officials are again warning hobby drone operators to not fly their aircraft near any wildfire.

Move Follows Extensive Investigation, Testing And Changes To The Helicopter And Its Maintenance

The U.K. and Norwegian aviation authorities have set out plans for the lifting of operating restrictions on H225LP and AS332L2 helicopters. The restrictions were imposed following the fatal accident of a H225 near Turøy in Norway in April 2016. The two helicopter types, popularly known as Super Pumas, were restricted from being used commercially by U.K. and Norwegian operators.

Penalties Ranged From $900 To $1,440 (Australian)

Drones flown near an Easter egg hunt and a wedding have cost their pilots hundreds of dollars in fines. A drone pilot has also been fined $1440 for flying in Sydney Harbour restricted airspace and flying within 30 meters (approx. 100 feet) of people.
