From Fantasy to Reality via First Ever eVTOL Commute

Meet the Jetsons

Jetson—the Swedish technology company with the stated, long-term goal of democratizing flight—has completed what may be the world’s first-ever eVTOL commute with its single-seater eVTOL aircraft. The vehicle, dubbed Jetson ONE, was piloted by Jetson company co-founder Tomasz Patan, who states, “We firmly believe the ‘eVTOL’ is the future for mass transportation. We are committed to making this a reality.” The June 2022 flight was conducted in Italy’s Tuscany region along a pre-planned route that the Jetson ONE eVTOL traversed in 88% less elapsed time than an automobile.

Michigan Sees First Real-World UAS Cargo Delivery Operations

MissionGO – Airspace Link Collaboration Successful

Two technology companies and a healthcare network have come together to conceptualize and operate a short-term, un-crewed-aircraft-system (UAS) cargo delivery operation. MissionGo Unmanned Systems—a company with a focus in un-crewed aircraft systems—and Airspace Link—a UAS technology and infrastructure company—in cooperation with Beaumont Health Spectrum Health (BHSH), Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), NextEnergy, and a sounder of Detroit politicians have announced the completion of a successful 10-day flight operation showcasing a real-world UAS transportation program in Southeast Michigan.

Cyprus to Receive Airbus H145M Helicopters

Popular Aircraft to Serve Cypriot National Guard

The Government of Cyprus, the east Mediterranean island-nation, has signed an agreement with Airbus for the purchase of six H145M helicopters with an option for an additional six aircraft. The twin-engine helicopters will be operated by the Cypriot National Guard. The H145M is a light, multi-role, utility, military helicopter derivative of the civilian H145. The aircraft’s latest iteration features a bearing-less, low-maintenance, five-bladed main-rotor system that increases vehicle payload by 150-kilograms.
