The Italian Police has taken delivery of a fifth AW139 intermediate twin engine helicopter which will be based in Reggio Calabria. The contract, which was signed in July last year, includes a total of eight AW139 helicopters.

Willinger said they started looking at a helicopter simulator designed a couple of years ago. Within the last few months a prototype has been developed to test their design concepts.

The U.K. Air Accidents Investigation Branch has released an initial report from an accident in which a Glasgow Police helicopter came down on the roof of a pub, resulting in the fatal injury of at least nine people. Three were on board the aircraft, and six were attending an event inside the building. Thirty-two other people suffered injuries, twelve serious, according to the report.
