BOC Aviation, the Singapore-based aircraft leasing subsidiary of Bank of China, has placed a new firm order, signed in December 2012, for the purchase of 50 A320 Family aircraft including 25 neo airplanes. The order comprises A320 and A321 variants of both engine options. BOC Aviation will make its engine selection for the aircraft at a later date.

NTSB Releases Prelim In TX Helo Accident In November

Worker Suspended Under The Aircraft By A Long Line Fatally Injured When The Helicopter Went Down

The preliminary report issued by the NTSB in an accident involving a Hughes 369 helicopter in Childress, TX last November indicates that the aircraft experienced a "loss of engine power" while a worker was suspended below the aircraft working on a power line. The worker was fatally injured when the aircraft fell. The pilot sustained only minor injuries.

NTSB Conducts Close Examination Of JAL Dreamliner Battery

Agency Also In Possession Of Flight Recorders, APU Battery Charger, Memory Modules And Wire Bundles

In its second update on its investigation into a fire aboard a Boeing Dreamliner belonging to Japan Air Lines at Boston Logan International Airport, January 7th, the NTSB said the lithium-ion battery that powered the auxiliary power unit on the airplane was removed and transported back to the NTSB Materials Laboratory in Washington on January 10. The battery is currently being examined by NTSB investigators, who plan to disassemble it this week.
