DoT Announces Drone Pilot Program

New Program Named BEYOND

SecTrans Chao has announced that the three-year UAS Integration Pilot Program (IPP) successfully concluded on Oct. 25. Eight of the nine state, local and tribal governments that participated in the program have signed new agreements with the FAA to continue to tackle remaining UAS integration challenges. “The three years of information gathered under the drone Integration Pilot Program will be applied to a new initiative called BEYOND, which will further advance the safe integration of drones into our national air space,” said U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine L. Chao.

The SkyWay Group Inc., has received EASA approval for their Cessna Citation cabin door step replacement, marketed under the name SkyStep. EASA certifications numbered STC 10074500 / STC 10074602 / STC 10074623 cover the full range of Citation aircraft models previously certified by the FAA. In the spring of 2019, the SkyStep received Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) approval #SA04176NY from the FAA. The SkyStep is now FAA and EASA certified for the following Cessna Citation aircraft models: Citation 500, 501SP, 550, 551SP, S550, 560 (V, Ultra, Encore), 525 (CJ, CJ1, CJ1+), 525A (CJ2, CJ2+), and 525B (CJ3, CJ3+).
