UA-APG Partnership Adds Performance Package

Universal Avionics (UA), by dint of a newly-announced partnership with Aircraft Performance Group (APG), has introduced Performance Package capabilities for FlightPartner Connected Avionics. The new package fully-integrates with the Connected FMS’s extant workflows and relies on APG’s performance for take-off and engine-out calculations, obstacle analysis, landing factors, and more. APG’s engine allows for accurate weight-and-balance calculations—by which aircraft fuel-consumption may be reduced, aircraft ground-handling enhanced, and the overall efficiency of flight operations improved.

Gem State FBO Adds Jewel of a Hangar

Founded in 1979 and headquartered on Idaho’s Pocatello Regional Airport (PIH),  Avcenter is a full-service FBO with foci in air charters, flight instruction, aircraft maintenance and rental, and fuel sales. In October 2023, Avcenter completed a new state-of-the-art, thirty-thousand-square-foot, heated hangar facility. Sufficiently capacious to accommodate aircraft as large as Gulfstream’s G700 and Bombardier’s Global 7500, the new hangar offers prospective occupants short- and long-term lease options.

Carlisle Interconnect Technologies (CarlisleIT) a division of Carlisle Companies, has debuted its ECS Lightning series avionics coax, which adds two new 50 Ω coaxial cables to its existing trusted lineup of ECS avionics cables. CarlisleIT has innovated its avionics coax solutions to provide maximum performance in an extremely low weight cable. The two cables have silver-coated copper-clad aluminum conductors and helical aluminum shields to decrease the weight of the coax and minimize attenuation. Hyundai AAM Subsidiary Readies for Flight-Testing

Honeywell Aerospace, the ubiquitous North Carolina-headquartered maker of aero-engines, avionics, and bleeding-edge aeronautical technologies, has collaborated with Hyundai Motor Group subsidiary Supernal for purpose of developing a ground-control station supportive of pilotless Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) operations. A U.S.-based maker of eVTOL aircraft, Supernal, as stated in the company’s literature, intends to ply Hyundai’s automotive manufacturing heritage and know-how to the development and production of Advanced Air Mobility vehicles.

Memphis Part 135 Operator Enters Super Mid-Size Market

AB Jets has acquired three Bombardier Challenger 3500 aircraft, with a contractual option to order a fourth such machine by the end of 2023. AB Jets founder and co-owner Andrew Bettis set forth: “This fleet expansion represents a milestone in AB Jets’ history. We’re pleased to meet our clients’ demands with a new category of aircraft in the Challenger 3500. These super mid-size jets will bring an extended range and comfort to our fleet, increasing our ability to service our clientele.”

Companies to Collaborate on Super Puma Firefighting System

In humankind’s relentless battle against wildfires, time is a fleeting and precious commodity. Cognizant of such, DART Aerospace has entered into a partnership with United Rotorcraft by which the two concerns will develop an advanced aerial fire-fighting system optimized for Airbus’s Super Puma family of helicopters. The new aerial firefighting system comprises a fixed, external, 1,056-gallon, belly-mounted water tank, and appropriate cockpit controls. United Rotorcraft will also develop multi-mission equipment packages to extend the year-round value of the helicopter platform for operator-specific requirements.
