Vertical Aero’s VA-X4 eVTOL Chosen

Japan Airlines (JAL) has begun its partnership for a sustainable, zero-emissions rideshare service, slated to enter service at the Osaka Kansai Expo in 2025. Working with aircraft leasing company Avolon, JAL will create Japan’s first air-based ride sharing system. Avolon will pursue local partnerships, customers, support infrastructure, and certifications to set the stage for their 2025 launch. JAL will have the option to purchase or lease up to 100 of their aircraft of choice, the Vertical VA-X4.

The FAA is superseding Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2021-04-15, which applied to all Airbus Helicopters Model AS355E, AS355F, AS355F1, AS355F2, AS355N, and AS355NP helicopters; and certain Model AS350B3 helicopters. AD 2021-04-15 required repetitive visual inspections of the right-hand side of the vertical fin spar for discrepancies (cracking), and corrective action if necessary. AD 2021-20-18 Requires Removing And Reinstalling The (Affected) Windows

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain serial-numbered Leonardo S.p.a. Model AW119 MKII helicopters. This AD was prompted by the discovery that the passenger cabin windows (windows) on a batch of helicopters were improperly installed during production. This AD requires removing and reinstalling the windows. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products. This AD becomes effective November 3, 2021.
