Safran Is Proud To Power The Bell Nexus

Aircraft Is The First Application Of The Company's Hybrid-Electric Propulsion System

The first application of the Safran Hybrid-Electric Propulsion System (HEPS), the Bell Nexus, was officially unveiled this week at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The propulsion solution of this multi-rotor vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft is capable of producing more than 600 kWe power. During ground tests last June the system produced 100 kWe and further tests will be carried out next year.

State Farm Granted First National FAA Waiver For Damage Assessment Drone Flights

Authorized For BVLOS Operations Over People Through 2022

State Farm has been granted the first national waiver to any company in the U.S. by the FAA. The national waiver allows State Farm to conduct drone operations over people (OOP) and flights beyond the pilot’s visual line of sight (BVLOS) through November 2022. Previous waivers State Farm was granted were limited to a short time frame and to specific geographic areas impacted by hurricanes.
