Bombardier Commercial Aircraft has announced that Biman Bangladesh Airlines Ltd. has ordered three new Q400 turboprops by signing a purchase agreement with the Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC). Based on the list price of the Q400 aircraft, the firm order is valued at approximately $106 million.

To Receive $25,000 Worth Of Children’s Books And A Celebrity Reading Room Makeover

JetBlue has announced Jacksonville, FL is the winner of the #BookWithUs online vote, part of this year’s annual Soar with Reading literacy initiative. Thanks to support from the local community in North Florida, Jacksonville bested JetBlue’s other 101 cities, receiving 38 percent of the votes. Throughout the summer, customers were invited to vote for their favorite city to win $25,000 worth of children’s books and a “reading room makeover” by celebrity interior designer Tyler Wisler for a local organization. More than 544,300 online votes were cast.

Airport Has Been Exempted From Mandatory Evacuation Order To Allow Operations To Continue

Myrtle Beach Airport (KMYR)  will remain open during Hurricane Florence, according to airport and county officials. The airport is exempt from the mandatory evacuation order. This exemption will enable air carriers to continue to operate. It is anticipated commercial carriers will continue to operate in and out of MYR as long as conditions for flight operations remain safe and airline and TSA staffing levels are able to accommodate flights.

ExpressJet Pilot Leaders To Send Tentative Agreement For Pilot Ratification Vote

Balloting On Three-Year Contract Opens September 13

The pilots of ExpressJet Airlines Inc., represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA) have reached a tentative agreement (TA) on a new three-year contract. The pilots’ elected leaders voted last week to send the TA to its members for a ratification vote after determining the agreement included the market-rate wages, stronger job security, and enhanced work rules sought by the pilots.
