Airbus A220 Embarks On Demonstration Tour Across Asia

Will Visit Six Asian Destinations

An Airbus A220-300 flight test aircraft will visit six Asian destinations as part of a demonstration tour across the region. After a stopover at Seoul’s Incheon Airport the aircraft heads to Yangon (Myanmar), the first location of the demonstration tour. The aircraft will then visit Hanoi (Vietnam), Bangkok (Thailand) and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) before heading north to Nagoya (Japan).

FAA Hopes Aviation Authorities Will Simultaneously Lift 737 MAX Grounding

Letter Sent To Congressional Leaders By Acting Administrator Elwell

The FAA sent a letter this week to Senators Susan Collins (R-ME) and Jack Reed (D-RI) indicating that the agency is hopeful that it will "achieve near simultaneous approval from the major civil aviation authorities around the world” to lift the grounding of the Boeing 737 MAX, but added the decision is up to the individual regulators.

Signs Letter Of Intent For Fleet Modernization Program

The Air France–KLM Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for 60 A220-300 aircraft to modernize its fleet. By acquiring the industry’s most efficient and technologically advanced single-aisle aircraft, the airline will benefit from a significant reduction in fuel burn and CO2 emissions. These A220s are intended to be operated by Air France.

Embraer Delivers 26 Commercial And 25 Executive Jets In Second Quarter 2019

Embraer delivered a total of 51 jets in the second quarter of 2019 (2Q19), of which 26 were commercial aircraft and 25 were executive jets (19 light and 6 large). As of June 30th, the firm order backlog totaled $16.9 billion compared to $16.0 billion at the end of 1Q19. Embraer's 2Q19 backlog increase is largely due to continued market demand, mainly for the new family of Praetor jets in Executive Aviation.
