OSHA Fines Piedmont Airlines $15K After Ramp-Worker’s Death

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has fined Piedmont Airlines, a wholly-owned subsidiary of American Airlines, $15,625 in the wake of a horrific, December 2022 accident in which a ramp worker was killed on the job. In addition to instantiating the maximum dollar-amount permitted under law, the penalty levied by OSHA is sharply contraindicated by empirical evidence collected and reported upon by the NTSB.

Boeing Delivers First African 767

Air Tanzania Takes Hold of the Freighter King

Boeing delivered the first direct 767-300 freighter to an African carrier with a brand new plane handed to Air Tanzania. The aircraft touched down at the airline's home base in Dar es Salaam, and will soon be put into service as the company's flagship air cargo freighter. Growing demand and increasing payloads led the firm to hunt down a more capable heavy lift aircraft - a role the 767 has always been happy to provide. With the delivery, Air Tanzania holds orders for a pair of 737 MAX jets, a 787-8, and 2 787-8 Dreamliners.

Airbus Announces Raft of Sales at Paris Air Show

Manufacturer Sees Continued Interest With Hundreds of Sales in the A320 Family

The Paris Air Show once again acted as a suitable backdrop for making deals, with Airbus flooding the newswire with all kinds of deals, from the bread and butter narrowbodies to its higher-end, long-haul A350. Starting off the week Airbus sold a trio of A350 to Air Mauritius, bringing their fleet to 7 counting their 4 A350s already in service. The firm's collection of 4 A330s makes for a total of 11 long-haul Airbuses. The firm then sold 30 new A320neos to Saudi carrier flynas, bringing their total order book to 120 A320neos and 10 A321XLRs.
