Transport Canada Mandates Face Coverings In Various Transportation Efforts

Aviation Is One Of The Transportation Segments Targeted

To reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19, Transport Canada and the transportation industry have implemented a layered system of measures, such as increased sanitization, health checks for passengers, and allowing passengers to remain in their vehicles on ferries. However, there are still points in the transportation system where workers must be in close proximity to co-workers and travellers. The Minister of Transport, the Honorable Marc Garneau (pictured), has announced that he is expanding the requirements for the use of face coverings by workers and others involved in the transportation system, to reduce the risk of COVID-19.

US Carriers Have Asked To Resume Passenger Service, China Has Failed to Respond

The airways behind China and the USA are heating up as the US Department of Transportation issued an order suspending the scheduled passenger flights of Chinese carriers to and from the United States, effective as of June 16, 2020. This action responds to the failure of the Government of the People’s Republic of China to permit U.S. carriers to exercise their bilateral rights to conduct passenger air service to China. Currently, four Chinese carriers and no U.S. carriers operate scheduled passenger flights between the United States and China. Amazon Air Expands Aircraft Fleet

12 Additional 767-300 Converted Cargo Aircraft Added

Amazon is adding to their flock--again... with the addition of a lease for 12 more Boeing 767-300 converted cargo aircraft from Air Transport Services Group (ATSG). These aircraft will join Amazon’s existing fleet of 70 aircraft to bring its total network to over 80 aircraft. One of the new aircraft joined Amazon’s air cargo operations in May 2020, with the remaining 11 to be delivered in 2021. Amazon continues to expand on-the-ground operations in addition to aircraft.
