Calgary-based WestJet Encore Ltd. has signed a firm order with Bombardier for five Q400 aircraft. The airline also signed a firm order for one Q400 aircraft in March 2015. These transactions are conversions of options previously booked by the carrier's parent company WestJet Airlines.

Pratt & Whitney Signs Agreement With Azul

Will Support E195-E2 Jets Powered By PurePower Engines

Pratt & Whitney and Azul have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for a Fleet Management Program supporting off-wing maintenance for 30 firm Embraer E195-E2 jets plus options for 20 aircraft, powered by PurePower engines. The PurePower PW1900G engine is the sole source powerplant on the E190-E2 and the E195-E2 jets. Deliveries are anticipated to begin in 2020.

L-3’s TACAN+ Selected By Hindustan Aeronautics Limited

System To Be Installed Aboard Light Utility Helicopters

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has selected the L-3 Tactical Airborne Navigation System, TACAN+, for HAL’s new Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) program. The TACAN+ transceiver is a small and light tactical airborne navigation system capable of tracking up to four ground stations simultaneously in range and two in bearing. It can be installed on rotary- and fixed-wing platforms and used for air-to-air and air-to-ground operations.
