Teams Compete to Hand-Pull Embraer E170 for Children's Charity

Republic Airways announced its 10th annual Plane Pull to raise money for a variety of children's charities. The event raised $3 million since its inception, and this year is hoped to beat every previous record by leaps and bounds. Charities in the Indianapolis area that will see assistance include A Kid Again, Indiana Wish, Riley Children’s Foundation and Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at Ascension St. Vincent.

Envoy Buys 3 More E175s

American Airlines Subsidiary Aims for 100-Strong Fleet by 2023

American Airlines signed a firm order with Embraer for 3 additional E175s for addition to their subsidiary carrier Envoy Air. Their fleet, when counting deliveries to be made through the rest of this year, will come to more than 100 aircraft. The contract for the new planes is valued at $160.2 million if made at list price. The regional jet has consistently been a solid performer with the two carriers, going back decades to their initial purchase, said Mark Neely. AD 2022-02-03 Requires Independent Inspection To Verify Re-Installation Of The AGB Handcranking Pad Cover

The FAA is superseding Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2013-26-01 for all CFM International, S.A. (CFM) CFM56-3 and CFM56-7B model turbofan engines with a certain accessory gearbox assembly (AGB) not equipped with a dynamic oil seal assembly in the handcranking pad. AD 2013-26-01 required an independent inspection to verify re-installation of the handcranking pad cover after removal of the pad cover for maintenance. This AD was prompted by a dual engine loss of oil event and 42 prior events of total loss of engine oil during flight.
