All 71 People On Board Fatally Injured

A Russian airliner has gone down near Moscow resulting in the fatal injury of all 71 people on board. The airliner, an AN-148 operated by Saratov Airlines, went down shortly after takeoff from Orsk, which is about 900 miles southeast of Moscow.

Finds Lack Of Coordination Contributed To The 2016 Incident At Calgary International Airport, Alberta

In a recently-released investigation report (A16W0170), the Transportation Safety Board of Canada found that the common practice of clearing aircraft and vehicle movements across an infrequently used runway without prior coordination contributed to a runway incursion at the Calgary International Airport, Alberta, in December 2016. The risk of collisions on runways is on the TSB's Watchlist of issues that must be addressed to make Canada's transportation system even safer.

EFW Secures Launch Contract For A321P2F Conversion From Vallair

Will Convert 10 Airplanes From Passenger To Freight Configuration

Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW), the joint venture between ST Aerospace and Airbus, announced today that it has secured a launch contract from Vallair Solutions Sàrl (Vallair) for its A321 passenger-to-freighter (P2F) conversion solution. The Germany-based aerospace company will convert 10 A321-200 passenger aircraft to a 14-pallet cargo configuration for Vallair. The first aircraft will be inducted in the last quarter of 2018, scheduled for redelivery by the end of 2019.
