A five-year exclusive pilot training agreement has been signed between Boeing and Singapore-based SilkAir. The training agreement will support SilkAir's fleet transition to Boeing airplanes. In November 2012, SilkAir finalized an order for 23 Next-Generation 737-800s and 31 737 MAX 8s, the largest order in the airline's history.
EASA has granted type certification to Rolls-Royce for the Trent XWB that will power the Airbus A350 XWB aircraft. The certificate was formally handed over by EASA Executive Director Patrick Goudou to Rolls-Royce Trent XWB Program Director Chris Young at EASA headquarters in Cologne, Germany.
