Honeywell has been selected to provide several vital aircraft subsystems for the new 737 MAX. The airplane will come equipped with the latest Honeywell Electronic Bleed Air System (EBAS), in addition to other existing Honeywell 737 systems that the company says will lower the cost of ownership for operators, while increasing reliability, efficiency and comfort.

Maldivian Airlines, the national carrier of the Maldives has become a new operator of Airbus single aisle aircraft, following the first commercial flight of an A320 on the inaugural flight from Male to Chennai. The aircraft, operated under a leasing agreement, is the first A320 Maldivian will fly to destinations in the Indian sub-continent.

Construction Will Begin Soon On AAMF In Prince Georges County, VA

Rolls-Royce is set to begin construction on a new advanced manufacturing facility at Rolls-Royce Crosspointe in Prince George County, Virginia. The Group is investing $136 million to develop an Advanced Airfoil Machining Facility (AAMF), which will create 140 new, highly skilled jobs. The new AAMF will be located alongside the company’s Rotatives manufacturing facility on the 1,000-acre Crosspointe campus, located just south of the state capital, Richmond.

Rockwell Collins has been selected by Boeing to provide its large-format flight displays as standard equipment on the 737 MAX flight deck. The multi-year agreement leverages Rockwell Collins’ flight display technology from the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Currently there are more than 900 orders for the 737 MAX.
