Finds Fault With Boeing, FAA, Airline Workers And Crew
The Indonesian government is expected to release its final report on the October 29, 2018 accident involving a Lion Air 737 MAX airplane ... one of two crashes which led to the worldwide grounding of the aircraft ... late Friday or on Saturday.
The United Republic of Tanzania, represented by the Tanzanian Government Flight Agency (TGFA), has signed a firm purchase agreement with De Havilland Canada for a Dash 8-400 aircraft. The aircraft, which will be leased to and operated by Air Tanzania (The Wings of Kilimanjaro), will join three that are already in service and another previously ordered one, to increase the airline’s fleet of Dash 8-400 aircraft to five. It will be delivered in a 78-seat, dual-lavatory configuration.
Amaszonas Línea Aérea of Bolivia is the newest Embraer E-Jet operator. The airline recently started flying an E190 between Santa Cruz de la Sierra’s Viru Viru Airport and La Paz. Amaszonas is adding a total of six E190s to its fleet. The airplanes will fly to several domestic and international destinations.
Airbus has launched an extensive tour of the Pacific region to showcase the A220, its latest family member. The aircraft being used for the tour is an A220-300 leased from Latvia’s airBaltic, which will visit nine destinations in seven countries. These will include three stops in Asia on the return journey to Europe.
The Boeing Company has named Stan Deal to succeed Kevin McAllister as president and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes and Ted Colbert to succeed Deal as president and CEO of Boeing Global Services, effective immediately. Vishwa Uddanwadiker is appointed to Colbert's former role as interim chief information officer and senior vice president of Information Technology & Data Analytics.
