Air Freight Volumes Flat After Recent Declines

Rose Two Tenths Of One Percent Compared To August, 2014

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) recently released data for global air freight markets showing that in August freight markets stabilized after two months of decline. Measured in Freight Tonne Kilometers, air cargo volumes rose 0.2% compared to the same month a year ago. This is a modest improvement on July performance when freight demand contracted by 0.6% year-over-year.

Japan's Ryukyu Air Commuter Is Launch Customer For Q400 Cargo-Combi Variant

Airline Has Purchased Five Of The Type

Okinawa, Japan-based Ryukyu Air Commuter has been identified as the airline that had signed a firm purchase agreement for five Q400 turboprop airliners previously announced in July 2014. RAC, which is a part of the Japan Airlines Group, is also the launch customer of the Q400 cargo-combi variant announced at the Farnborough Airshow in July 2014. All five aircraft ordered by RAC will be delivered in combi configuration.
