Baggage Check, Other Fees Not Deterring Flying Public
Fees for checked baggage, seat selection, and even pillows do
not seem to be preventing people from buying airline tickets, which
means airlines are likely to hang on to those fees as a critical
revenue stream, analysts say.
Continues Trend Of Monthly Notices From The Plane Maker
Some 130 Boeing employees got bad news last Friday. They
received notices that they will be laid off in 60 days. The company
has been issuing layoff notices every month since January, when it
announced it would be idling 10,000 employees company wide.

The Allied Pilots Association (APA) is urging the U.S. DOT to
decline American Airlines’ application for worldwide
antitrust immunity with British Airways and Iberia, citing European
Commission (EC) concerns and the airline’s refusal to address
job-security, anti-competitiveness and national-security
issues.
