Airborne 09.14.15: ICAS Hall Of Fame, Precious Metal To Rebuild, AUVSI v FAA

The International Council of AirShows has selected Aerobatic pilot John Mohr, air show announcer M.A. “Sonny” Everett, and the formation and aerobatic flying Red Baron Pizza Squadron to be inducted into the ICAS Foundation Air Show Hall of Fame. The new inductees will be recognized at a formal banquet ceremony during the 48th ICAS Convention on December 9th, in Las Vegas. Like a Phoenix rising from the ashes, the Precious Metal Racing Team hopes to rebuild the highly-modified P-51 that was badly damaged last week during a ground fire. World’s First All-Electric Propulsion Satellite Begins Operations

Boeing-Built 702SP Satellite Transitions To Customer Ahead Of Schedule

The world’s first all-electric propulsion satellite, built by Boeing for Bermuda-based ABS, is now operational after an on-orbit handover on August 31. The ABS-3A, a 702SP (small platform) satellite, expands ABS’ communications services in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
