Following its recent acquisition of Goodrich, United
Technologies has announced a new organizational structure that
groups some of the company's businesses into new aerospace and
commercial organizations. Company management says this new
structure will allow United Technologies to better serve customers
through greater integration across product lines and to drive
growth by taking full advantage of technology investments and the
company's global footprint.
Industry Day Event Held In Huntsville, AL, Thursday
NASA leaders met Thursday to discuss acquisition plans for the
agency’s new SLS heavy-lift rocket with hundreds of
representatives of aerospace industry companies, small businesses
and independent entrepreneurs. The Industry Day event, hosted by
NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL, provided
industry representatives with an overview of the SLS Program and
defined its near-term business requirements
Experimental Module Could Lead To A Chinese Space Station
China launched its Tiangong-1 module from the Jiuquan launch
center in the Gobi Desert Thursday, the first step in what the
government there hopes will be a Chinese space station 2020. The
module, whose name translates to "Heavenly Palace," is part of a
program developed to refine spacecraft docking technology.
