Engineers at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville,
AL have completed first-round testing of a critical motor for
NASA's new two-stage Ares I rocket, which will launch astronauts
aboard the Orion crew capsule on missions to the International
Space Station and to the moon by 2020.
Mission Control Moved Inland, Progress Docking At ISS
NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX closed at noon CDT
Thursday, and will remain closed until the threat of Hurricane Ike
has passed. Ike, a Category 2 hurricane in the western Gulf of
Mexico, is expected to cross the Texas coast early Saturday as a
Category 3 storm.
