Recently SpaceX scored another successful launch and landing of components of a Falcon 9 supporting the Candian Space Agency’s RADARSAT Constellation Mission. Falcon 9’s first stage for launch of RADARSAT Constellation Mission previously flew on Crew Dragon’s first demonstration mission in March 2019. Robotically surveying lunar craters in record time and mining resources in space could help NASA establish a sustained human presence at the Moon – part of the agency’s broader Moon to Mars exploration approach. Two mission concepts to explore these capabilities have been selected as the first-ever Phase III studies within the NASA Innovative Advanced Concepts (NIAC) program.
