It's official. The new world speed record for a jet-powered
aircraft, set by NASA in November, has been officially recognized
by Guinness World Records.
To his family, Charles Darby is known as the historian,
photographing family events as a hobby. But during 22 years at
NASA, he has played his own role in history -- leaving his
engineering mark on research facilities destined for space.
Big things can come in small packages, and engineers at NASA's
Johnson Space Center are making progress on a tiny spacecraft that
holds major promise for future exploration.
