CAE Ends Russian Services

Training, Service, Terminated for Russian Simulators, Airlines,

CAE has announced the termination of service offerings in the Russian Federation, discontinuing their service and training to all Russian airlines, aircraft operators, and, unusually - healthcare distributors. The company has donated to the Red Cross in an effort to defray some of the human suffering occurring in the region, as well as assisting volunteers in neighboring countries. The firm does not have any facilities in Russia, but does have service contracts with airlines to provide parts and update services in its training center network.

FAA Accepting LAANC Applications

Interested Providers Encouraged to Apply by June 3

The FAA has announced the opening of applications to those interesting in joining Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability (LAANC). The agency will allow apps in order to join as approved LAANC service suppliers, allowing them to join the ranks of the drone industry. The program is a joint effort between the FAA and the unmanned industry as a whole that enables smoother, safer integration of remotely piloted and autonomous systems into the nation's airspace.
