An interesting milestone passed a few days ago... as the longest-running video news program dedicated to the unmanned aviation community turned three years old. The program first launched in early March of 2017, with Airborne host Bri Crossat the helm, and since then, several hundred Airborne-Unmanned episodes, along with special programs, have been developed in partnership with AUVSI, to keep the UAV community updated, entertained and educated. It’s been an interesting road as AU programing detailed the speedy evolution of unmanned concepts from conception to reality, and also chronicled technologies that were simply science fiction just a few years ago. Virginia Middle School Student Earns Honor Of Naming NASA's Next Mars Rover

NASA's next Mars rover has a new name – Perseverance. The name was announced Thursday by Thomas Zurbuchen, associate administrator of the Science Mission Directorate, during a celebration at Lake Braddock Secondary School in Burke, Virginia. Zurbuchen was at the school to congratulate seventh grader Alexander Mather, who submitted the winning entry to the agency’s "Name the Rover" essay contest

Presented With The Inaugural 'The Wright Stuff Award'

The Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) honored U.S. Representative Mac Thornberry (R-TX), Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Committee, as the inaugural recipient of “The Wright Stuff Award” at a Capitol Hill reception on February 26. Representative Thornberry’s leadership and policy contributions to America’s national and economic security during his 25 years in Congress are extensive and notable.

Module Launched Friday Aboard A SpaceX Falcon 9 Rocket

The Airbus built Bartolomeo platform was successfully launched on March 06 from Cape Canaveral, FL. Bartolomeo arrived at the International Space Station (ISS) Monday, and will be installed outside of the Columbus Laboratory, the European module of the ISS built by Airbus.
