Wow... just wow... so many sights to be impressed by... All compressed into a few minutes.. Such was the launch of the first Falcon Heavy! SpaceX reached a significant milestone Tuesday with the successful launch of Falcon Heavy carrying Elon Musk's red Tesla Roadster as its "mass simulator". The Falcon Heavy lifted off from Cape Canaveral at 1545 EDT, 15 minutes before the close of its launch window, boosting the roadster into an Earth-Mars orbit around the sun. The rocket performed flawlessly in its initial flight. Singapore Takes Next Step Towards Implementing Space-based VHF Communications

The Technology To Facilitate The Safe Reduction In Separation Between Aircraft Will Be The First Of Its Kind Anywhere

A research collaboration agreement was signed on the sidelines of the Singapore Airshow this week between GomSpace A/S, The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) and Singapore Technologies Electronics Limited (ST Electronics) to conduct a design study on the implementation of space-based Very High Frequency (VHF) communications for air traffic management (ATM) in the Singapore Flight Information Region (FIR). This agreement follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) by the three parties in July 2017 to explore the application and deployment of the space-based system.

Agency Releases Annual Compendium of Commercial Space Transportation: 2018

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has released The Annual Compendium of Commercial Space Transportation: 2018, which shows space activity in the United States and worldwide is strong and growing. Specifically, the report finds the global space industry, which combines satellite services and ground equipment, government space budgets, and global navigation satellite services equipment represents about $345 billion in activity.

Booster Missed The Droneship And Impacted The Water

The space community watched as SpaceX successfully launched the Falcon Heavy for the first time on Tuesday. By nearly any measure, the launch was a great success. but while the company hoped to recover all three boosters from the test flight, they were only two-thirds successful in that regard.
