ANN's production of the Bob Hoover Memorial Celebration of Life turned out to be the most challenging production we've ever attempted... but as thousands of people can attest, the wonder of Bob's life was shared with them, live, all over the world. Next, though, is the need to produce a proper program out of all the live and other video recorded in order to offer a tighter and more polished presentation above and beyond what's available in a live format. We're working on that now. The aviation community has lost another of its icons. Copernicus´ Second Eye Is Ready To Meet Its Launcher

Sentinel-2B Satellite Scheduled For Launch In Early March 2017

Sentinel-2B, Europe´s next Copernicus satellite in Space, has successfully finished its test program at ESA´s technology Center ESTEC in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. The second Sentinel-2 Airbus built satellite will now be readied for shipment to the Kourou spaceport in French Guiana begin January 2017. It is scheduled for an early March 2017 lift-off on Vega.

SOFIA Expanding New Frontiers In The Solar System And Beyond

Modified 747 Carries 100 Inch Telescope

NASA’s Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy, SOFIA, will soon be studying Neptune’s giant moon, Triton, and following-up on Hubble’s recent sighting of water plumes on Jupiter’s moon Europa. According to recently completed plans for the 2017 observing campaign, about half of the research time for SOFIA will run the gamut from studies of planets to observations of comets and asteroids orbiting other stars and supermassive black holes in the centers of galaxies beyond our own.

NASA Announces 'Cassini Scientist For A Day' Essay Contest

Students In Grades 5-12 Are Eligible To Enter

NASA is inviting students in grades 5-12 and their classrooms to participate in the annual Cassini Scientist for a Day Essay Contest. To participate, students choose one of three images taken by the Cassini spacecraft at Saturn. Then students write an essay to explain why their chosen image makes the best science target.
