Curiosity Performs Warm Reset

First Unexpected Software Reboot For The Mars Rover

NASA's Mars rover Curiosity experienced an unexpected software reboot (also known as a warm reset) Thursday during a communications pass as it was sending engineering and science data to the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, for later downlinking to Earth.

As we reported last week, the Readington Township Committee has been pushing to use condemnation and eminent domain laws to take over the privately owned Solberg Airport, despite overwhelming opposition. Expedition 37 crew members Karen Nyberg of NASA, Fyodor Yurchikhin of the Russian Federal Space Agency and Luca Parmitano of the European Space Agency have returned to Earth from the International Space Station, landing at 2149 EST Sunday, Nov. 10 (8:49 a.m. Kazakhstan time, Nov. 11), after spending 166 days in space.
