Airborne 10.15.18: Shakeup at Textron, Sandel Avilon Delivery, ADS-B Rebate

There’s been a changing of the guard on the aviation side of Textron. Textron has announced that Scott Ernest, president and CEO of Textron Aviation Inc. since 2011, has been named president and CEO of Textron’s Industrial Segment and of Textron Specialized Vehicles Inc. Ronald Draper, Textron Aviation’s senior vice president, integrated supply chain (Operations), has been named to succeed Ernest. Sandel Avionics has announced availability for its Avilon flight deck for the King Air family. Will Look At Ways To Keep Current ISS Crew In Orbit For An Extended Period

Russia has grounded its Soyuz spacecraft indefinitely while it investigates a booster failure which led to an abort of the Thursday launch to the ISS with an American astronaut and Russian cosmonaut on board. The two spacefarers were returned safely to Earth, but the anomaly left NASA and Roscosmos with no way to send additional crew to the station.
