NASA's STEREO mission to investigate solar storms got off to a
spectacular start Wednesday night, as the rocket carrying the twin
satellites blazed through the starry sky after lifting off at 8:52
pm EDT from Florida's Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.
China launched two satellites into space Tuesday -- from the
same missile. The two Shijian Six spacecraft were lifted aboard the
Long March-4b rocket in the early morning take-off from the main
Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in northern province of Shanxi,
said the official Xinhua news agency.
