Canadian Man Pulled From Mexico Flight, Sent Home

'No-Fly' Man Accumulates Some Serious Mileage

Does being on the "No-Fly List" include frequent flier miles? That's but one of the questions being asked after a Canadian man was taken off a flight from Toronto to Mexico and forced to return home because his name was on a no-fly list.

According to the Edmonton Sun, Sami Kahil maintains he was questioned on the ground after arriving in Mexico, by officials who said he was wanted in Canada.

Kahil, who is of Lebanese descent, has never been in trouble with the law -- and he also visited the US recently with no problems. He has lived in Canada for 17 years, he added.

After being questioned in Mexico, Kahil was put on a plane back to Canada. He is seeking assistance from the Canadian consulate, adding he can only guess it was at least in part because of his heritage.

"We're in touch with the family and continue to be, and we're looking into this matter with the Mexican authorities," said duty spokesman Rodney Moore.

If we understand this story correctly... Kahil flew all the way across the US from north to south -- was told he's on a no-fly list -- then flew all the way back to Canada -- again, across the US -- because he's on a no-fly list? Let's hope he earned double points for the inconvenience.
