Visit Diamond Aircraft
(and See The D-Jet Mockup!)
In the NBAA Static Display Area
ANN is proud to have
friends like Diamond Aircraft to help us bring you coverage of the
2006 NBAA Convention. Each Diamond Aircraft is a testimony to
efficiency in design. Not a line is wasted; not a curve is out of
place. From the elegant DA20, and its roots in gliders... to the
larger DA40 four-place birds... and the gorgeous, Thielert
diesel-powered DA42, these planes live up to their 'Diamond'
moniker.
Diamond Aircraft is proud to take its rightful place at the NBAA
2006 Convention. With choices of two and four seat, single or
twin engine, conventional piston or diesel, and conventional or
glass cockpits, all Diamond aircraft offer performance, comfort,
value, utility and safety -- and NOW, there's the exciting new
D-Jet!
The single-engine D-Jet is now flying and working its way
through flight test. The five-passenger D-Jet represents
Diamond's impending entry into the burgeoning marketplace of very
light jets (VLJs), which offers individuals and businesses jet
transportation at acquisition and operating costs lower than those
associated with traditional corporate jets.
First announced by Diamond Aircraft in January 2003, the
single-engine Diamond "D-Jet" is powered by a single Williams FJ-33
turbofan, an engine also used in the upcoming twin-engine Adams
A700 and ATG Javelin. The five-passenger D-Jet is expected to
cruise at a maximum speed of 315 knots, at an altitude of 25,000 ft
while offering range of 1,351 nm -- which translates to a decidedly
un-jetlike fuel burn around 34 gallons per hour.
The composite aircraft features a Garmin G1000 glass cockpit,
which in basic configuration features a dual screen PFD / MFD with
integrated GFC 700 autopilot.
The optional enhanced avionics package adds a massive 15" MFD to
the two 10" PFD's, a glare shield mounted autopilot controller for
the GFC 700 and a center console mounted FMS controller.
