Facilities, Staff Integrated Into Company

Sun Aviation has completed the purchase of the assets of Vero Beach Avionics, integrating all of the avionics shop's equipment, facilities, technicians and leadership team into the services provided by Sun Aviation.

A family owned and operated, full-service aviation services provider, Sun Aviation has a long history and rich legacy in the general aviation community as a knowledgeable maintenance facility and FBO dedicated to customer service. Each company, Sun Aviation and Vero Beach Avionics, are known in their own right for their expertise in maintenance service and avionics modification and repair, respectively. Together, the service they are able to provide with their decades of expertise, allows them to bring an unprecedented level of services to aircraft
owners and operators.

Located adjacent to Piper Aircraft on the Vero Beach Municipal Airport, Sun Aviation has long served as a respected Authorized Piper Service Center providing a unique expertise on the entire family of Piper products. An authorized Part 145 Repair Station, Sun's expertise extends to a wide range of general aviation aircraft. The service center also retains authorized service and dealership relationships with all leading avionics manufacturers. They hold an STC for installation of the GARMIN GSR56 system which provides pilots with access to on-demand global weather information and text/voice communications through the Iridium satellite network. Further, Sun will continue as the authorized East Coast provider for Cutter Aviation's G950 Meridian Retrofit Program.

The Holman family, who owns and operates Sun Aviation, has a long legacy of aviation excellence. In 1929, Bud Holman, whose sons and grandsons are now running Sun Aviation, was one of the members of the group that built the Vero Beach airport, which in turn was responsible for bringing the Dodgers, Eastern Airlines, and Piper Aircraft to Vero Beach. The family has owned and operated Sun Aviation ever since.

"With the integration of the avionics team we are able to provide a new depth and strength of services available to Piper, Pilatus, King-Air, and all aircraft owners," said Bump Holman, CEO of Sun Aviation. "Owners can now, in one visit, at one location, with one team, receive world-class maintenance service and unique avionics installations and modifications.

"Our relationships and location allow us to provide rare and timely services that will be convenient for aircraft owners from across the U.S., as well as Central and South America."

The company has seen robust business in recent history with glass-panel installation and retrofit projects. Rick Peavley, previous President of Vero Beach Avionics and current AEA board member, continues on with Sun Aviation in his role as Avionics Manager. Al Rice, previous Vice-President of Vero Beach Avionics, continues on as Chief Inspector and Avionics Shop Manager.
