Are Left-, Right-Hand Interchangeable
DART Helicopter Services has announced that their affiliated
partner, DART Aerospace Ltd, has received EASA approval of their
revolutionary Round-I-Beam skidtube for the Bell
206/A/B/L/L1/L3/L4/407 models. Both standard and float
configurations are available. Canadian and FAA approval have been
previously received.
"The 206 series and 407 Skidtubes, like many of the Dart
skidtubes, are LH/RH interchangeable which allows operators to
reduce their inventory. This, coupled with the proven durability of
the product, ensures an overall cost savings to operators," said
Jeff Shapiro, CEO of Dart Helicopter Services.
The central I-beam web in DART skidtubes absorbs most of the
impact on landing so the tube maintains its structural integrity
and even with the addition of a central web, the weight is
comparable to that of conventional skidtubes. DART skidtubes
feature full length carbon or stainless steel Wearplates and
additional tungsten carbide welded Wearpads and high strength CNC
machined split saddles. Bolt-on saddles make installation and field
replacement easy.
To ensure that DART can fulfill the landing gear requirements of
all operators, the DART Round-I- Beam skidtubes have been designed
for compatibility with DART, OEM and equivalent crosstubes.
DART Float Skidtubes come standard with Stainless Steel
Wearplates and Wearpads for improved corrosion resistance.
Additional anti-corrosion measures are utilized in the production
of all DART Skidtubes to provide a high quality and durable
product.
The skidtubes are also available on several other aircraft
models, including a variety of Bell helicopters, and the Eurocopter
AS350, BO105, and EC135.
