Aero-TV: Airtime Aircraft’s Trikes - Go Anywhere, Do Anything, Have FUN!

“This Thing Is Cheaper Than My Harley…”

Sun ‘n Fun 2016 was like a wine tasting party; you had the chance to taste a little bit of everything. ANN’s CEO and Editor-In-Chief, Jim Campbell, decided to take a look at an aircraft called the Airtime Cygnet to get a taste of recreational aviation in its most basic form.

To get the scoop, Jim talked with Jordan Bial, who is the sales manager for Airtime Aircraft. Bial tells Jim that the concept behind their aircraft is to provide a recreational flyer with the ability to go anywhere and do anything. The aircraft offers the excitement of being in the open-air that is configured as a trike design for amphibious operation.

Bial says the current model of the Cygnet has grown from the experience gained as the model has matured. He says the floats have been upgraded and the landing gear has been revised to prevent corrosion. As the video progresses, Bial goes into other details as to why their aircraft is so ideally suited for rough and tough operation.

Jim also brings up the subject of a fixed wing pilot transitioning to a trike type of an aircraft. Listen and watch as Bial relates to his own experience when he converted from fixed wing to trike. And by the way, their line of aircraft are available in an ultralight form or as a certified light sport aircraft.

This video provides a lot of information about a type of recreational flying that many pilots may not be aware of. You’ll also see plenty of action shots to give you a feel for just what this aircraft can do.
