Cooperative Effort Which Began In 2002 Extended Through
2017
A flight crew training agreement between Airbus and CAE has
been extended through 2017. The two companies made the announcement
Monday at the biennial Airbus Training Symposium. The cooperation,
which began in 2002, provides Airbus operators with a joint global
network of training centers with the largest fleet of full-flight
simulators (FFS) for Airbus aircraft types, standardized courseware
and expert instructors.
"CAE's continuous technology innovation, industry leadership and
presence in emerging markets represent tremendous value for Airbus
customers worldwide," said Didier Lux, Executive Vice President of
Customer Services for Airbus. "Our common goals and cooperation
have led to some of the most effective and cost-efficient training
services in the marketplace."
The Airbus-CAE cooperation, which began with 10 training
centers in 2002, has grown to 18 training centers and the number of
full-flight simulators has tripled to 60 located in Asia, India,
the Middle East, Europe, North and South America. The training
offer has also expanded, and now Airbus and CAE are able to provide
the complete range of training services, including Turnkey Training
Solutions. The most recent aircraft type to be added to the
Airbus-CAE training services cooperation is the new Airbus A350 XWB
extra-wide body, long-range aircraft.
"While our cooperation continues to adapt to emerging
technologies and market dynamics, the benefits to the customer of
training with Airbus and CAE have remained consistent," said Jeff
Roberts, CAE Group President, Civil Simulation Products, Training
and Services. "Customers expect and receive the highest standards
in quality, safety, service and efficiency in their training. We
look forward to continuing this heritage with Airbus operators
around the globe."
