AeroSports Update: Now…An Easy Way To Find An Airshow

Air Shows Calendar Features Nearly 230 Local Entertainment Options That Won't Break Your Budget

The International Council of Air Shows (ICAS), a trade association representing the air show industry, has announced the launch of its 2015 air shows calendar in a new format. The calendar features quick and comprehensive access to up-to-the-minute air show dates, locations, and performer appearances in multiple formats.

The industry authority, which represents the top aerobatic performers and air shows in North America, says the newly revamped calendar is the most accurate and complete source for air show information and offers visitors multiple ways to find a show near them or their favorite performers, including the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, and Royal Canadian Air Force Snowbirds military jet teams. Additionally, the world-renowned Breitling Jet Team will make its first U.S. appearance and will fly in 19 cities.

John Cudahy, ICAS's president, notes that the increase in visitors to its calendars was hard to ignore.

"From 2013 to 2014, we saw a 37 percent increase in traffic to our By Date calendar, and a 109 percent increase to our By Location calendar, and, almost all of that traffic is the result of an online search with one third of those visitors are on a mobile device or tablet," said Cudahy. "The numbers tell us that families are out there looking for inexpensive, local, live entertainment options and we have a responsibility to make sure they know where to find those options in an accurate, easy-to-use resource."

The new calendar has a clean, uncluttered design, improved functionality and enhanced content to help the public easily find a fun, low-cost weekend activity that both kids and adults can enjoy. Calendar visitors can view several options including a map of shows or a simple dropdown list, and sort by month, state, and performer. Users are also provided links to the individual air show and performer websites.
