WingX Pro Rolls Out New Non-Linear Technology

Adds Departure Procedure And Standard Terminal Arrival Geo-Referencing

Hilton Software has announced its new patent-pending “WingX Non-Linear Warping Technology”.

This new technology enables its flagship product WingX Pro7 to geo-reference Departure Procedures (DPs) and Standard Terminal Arrival Procedures (STARs) and is released as part of the WingX Ingenuity Initiative.

Airport Diagrams and Instrument Approach Procedures are easily geo-referenced due to their linear nature; i.e. they are drawn to scale.  However, due to the distances involved, DPs and STARs are typically not drawn to scale.  This image non-linearity prevents easily-applied linear interpolation and extrapolation techniques from being used.

WingX Non-Linear Warping Technology solves this problem and brings a capability that before today was assumed to be impossible.

“We have always been a company focused on innovation, ingenuity, and pushing the EFB envelope," said Dr. Hilton Goldstein, CEO of Hilton Software.  By adding georeferencing to thousands of DPs and STARs, WingX Pro7 will significantly increase situational awareness particularly for our Airline, Military, and other IFR pilots.”

WingX Pro7 with Departure Procedure and Standard Terminal Arrival GeoReferencing is planned to be available in the Apple App Store in Q2 2016 and later in the year on WingX Pro7 for Android and WingX Pro7 for Fire.  There is no additional cost as this will be included in the Advanced IFR Subscription.
