Journalist Skypes From Airliner Lav

Time Magazine Editor Appeared On MSNBC In Flight

This may be a first. With WiFi becoming more prevalent on airliners, it's not surprising that someone has used Skype in flight, but using the lav as an impromptu TV studio ... that may be another thing entirely.

Anchor Chair

That's what happened on the MSNBC show "Way Too Early" Thursday morning. The blog NewsCast Studio  is among the media sources reporting that Time Magazine Editor at Large Mark Halperin appeared on the show via Skype from the lavatory of an airplane in flight. Halperin was returning home on a red-eye flight after covering a speech by New Jersey Governor Chris Christie in Washington, DC. He said he filed the report from the lavatory out of respect for the "quiet flight" rules.

And he could have a light on. TV likes lights.

At least he didn't disable the smoke detector.
