CMC Electronics Picked for Sikorsky FMS Standards

CMA-2082MC to Come Standard on UH-60, HH-60, and S-70 Helicopters

CMC Electronics has been tapped to supply their flight management system for a handful of Sikorsky helicopter models.

The deal will see the inclusion of CMC equipment for including the UH-60M, HH-60M, HH-60W, S-70i and the S-70M. Helicopters with CMC kit will be delivered to the US Army, the US Air Force in addition to the panoply of international Black Hawk customers.

CMC says their CMA-2082MC military FMS is uniquely flexible, since it allows Sikorsky to evolve and customize the FMS as time goes on - a good fit for long-lived, hard working helicopters on the edge of military, SAR, and ISR use.

The CMA-2082MC system also provides complete, integrated radio management in addition to a well-equipped flight management system. An extensive portfolio of navigation, communications and mission software, compatible with common, open standards like MOSA and FACE allow for a long lifecycle with all the benefits of modern avionics. Overall, Sikorsky’s pick should serve operators well, providing the power, size, weight, and reliability of brand-new FMS systems with the open-ended growth potential of open architecture.

Brad Nolen, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Sikorsky lineup underlined the amount of trust they have in CMC Electronics. “Sikorsky and CMC have been collaborating for more than 25 years to ensure that the Black Hawk Flight Management System provides a highly reliable navigation solution with the capabilities needed to enable war fighters to complete crucial missions and save lives. CMC is excited to partner with Sikorsky on this latest program.”
