Secures The 'Highest Service Level' For Daily A380 Operations
Asiana Airlines has selected Airbus’ Flight Hour Services (FHS) to provide components support for its A380 fleet. The FHS agreement, which will run for 10 years, provides an extensive scope of A380 line replaceable units (LRUs), guaranteed spare parts availability through pool access service and on-site stock at customer main base and selected outstations, as well as repair to Asiana Airlines.
Mr. Yong Wook Lee, SVP Purchasing & Legal Affairs at Asiana Airlines said: “This long-term commitment for Airbus to support our aircraft recognizes our confidence in Airbus to deliver the best possible service to Asiana customers for our forthcoming A380 flagship’s operations around the world.”
Didier Lux, SVP Customer Services at Airbus said: “We are delighted to welcome Asiana Airlines as a new FHS customer for its A380 fleet. More than ever, our customers are expecting from us innovative and flexible solutions to enable safe, efficient and profitable operations.”
South Korean carrier Asiana Airlines will become the twelfth operator of the A380 when it takes delivery of its first aircraft in the second quarter of this year. The airline has firm orders for six A380s and will operate the aircraft on its primary routes from Seoul to the US.
Airbus FHS contracts have now been selected to cover more than 130 aircraft from operators of the A320, A330, A340 and A380 families.
