Woman Stuck By Prop At Ohio Airport Dies

Sarah Rhoads Suffered Severe Head Injuries In Accident

The Ohio woman who was struck by a turning airplane propeller Sunday has died of her injuries.

Sarah Rhoads, 24, had been employed by Start Skydiving as the Manifest Reservations Manager and Business Manager. The job required her to line up jumpers with airplanes and keep track of the weight of the skydivers assigned to each airplane.

Television Station WDTN reports that Start Skydiving owner John Hart said that Rhoads was likely getting a food order from the pilot, which she often did, and didn't realize that the prop on the airplane was on the wing, rather than the nose. "We can only assume she is so used to walking out and talking to the pilot with no props there, that she accidentally made a mistake," Hart told the station.

Rhoads had been at Start Skydiving for three years.
