Aviation Blog Warns About French Propeller Company

Provides Photo Of Apparently Corroded Prop On A Plane For Sale In Europe

The blog 'Love4aviation' has posted a story about the French propeller company Duc Helices that the blog's author says is jeopardizing aviation safety.

The company manufactures composite propellers for the LSA and other markets. On the blog post, a reader sent a photograph (shown here) of a Duc Helices propeller on an airplane for sale at what was described as "the largest LSA Trade Fair in France this summer" that appears to have issues in the area where the blade attaches to the hub.

The blogger says the company was contacted two years ago after it had received reports of a design flaw which was leading to the delamination of propellers produced by the company.  Love4aviation is calling on the propeller manufacturer to issue service bulletins about its propellers, and to refund money to customers who have bought products "plagued by design flaws." The blogger, aircraft manufacturers, local regulatory bodies, and auditing companies have all been contacted about the these concerns.
