Altitude Angel Launches UK UAV App

“Drone Assist” Unifies Apps From Company Portfolio into Single Offering

Altitude anger has released a new version of the popular UK-region UAV flight planning tool Drone Assist, also announcing a number of additional integrations that will see it become a single-stop app for all its drone services.

The new version of Drone Assist will provide integrated flight planning, advanced flight path drawing tools, and approval services for complex airspace. The option provides a simple, streamlined way to request access to operate in airspace such as an airport FRZ, or land with access restrictions. Flight planning has seen similar streamlining too, with a focus on making the overall Drone Assist app more user-friendly and intuitive for novice pilots. Altitude Angel maintains that they didn’t leave the pros out though - They added “several business-critical services for more experienced operators”, too.

Altitude Angel's product is better than ever, thanks to the firm’s 400-strong tester community. Their feedback brought about better drawing tools for plotting out waypoints and flight lines, with the ability to push the completed plans to Altitude Angel’s network for display to airports and light aircraft. Enterprise users will appreciate the fleet management options, too, with support to maintain records on pilots, hours flown, and airframe time.

“All commercial drone operations start with a plan, and planning should start with Drone Assist, which is why we’ve invested so much in creating an app which can truly enable safe drone flight anywhere,” said Richard Parker, Altitude Angel CEO.

“We’ve seen through the user numbers, which have increased year-on-year, pilots and operators love Drone Assist. Having brought the app back in-house, we knew what needed to be done to make Drone Assist what we, and its users, whether recreational, commercial, or public safety, really wanted. So, after much design, development, and beta testing, we’re excited and proud to be releasing this updated version.

“Now, with the new Drone Assist out there, we have a platform on which drone operators can begin to build businesses and realise the potential of drones, building an industry to change the world.  And this is just the first in a series of new-feature releases we’ll be making as we continue to bring new services and opportunities to airspace users, managers, and landowners across the country and beyond.”

The new Drone Assist app drops on Monday, May 22.
